Verbalists developed and presented over two days at the end of April a tailor made course to help publications editors at the University of London International Unit develop the skills they need to prepare video scripts alongside the work they already do for printed materials. As online course provision becomes an ever-more important part of all universities’ provision the production of video clips is a vital skill. We prepared a presentation with video clips followed by a practical exercise in which delegates had to develop a six minute script about Artificial Intelligence from 2000 words of prose.

The delegates all seemed to enjoy the course and one of the organisers emailed me:

“I’ve had some wonderful feedback from publications about your workshops, so I thank you for that.”

It was something we hadn’t done formally for several years so was an interesting and valuable experience. It was also fun to be inside the iconic Senate House building in Malet Street which has been featured in all sorts of films and TV series.
