2026 has seen me contribute short stories, album reviews and concert reviews to the global jazz portal All About Jazz. It’s an exciting new period in my writing career and gives me great pleasure to share my love of jazz in new ways. And I am working on several more right now. You can access my contributions here.
I continue the jazz theme with ongoing work with tenor saxophonist Alan Skidmore for whom I maintain his website and have just filmed some new material for a film of his six-and-a-half decade career which I hope to complete later this year.
I am also working on a longer form article about the charity Tomorrow’s Warriors which has developed many of the best artists in several generations of British jazz musicians including Mercury Prize winners Ezra Collective, Soweto Kinch and Nubya Garcia. It has been a privilege to interview some of these established and rising stars for the article and to hear them perform in London’s major venues Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho, the recently opened Blue Note London and the Barbican Hall.
