There’s exciting news at the start of 2017. Verbalists will be helping Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust celebrate 25 years of outreach and community work in Watford, Hertfordshire, Harrow and Hillingdon. As season ticket holders, it’s a particular privilege to have been asked to help with the acquisition of personal testimony from those who have been affected by the Trust’s work and then to fashion it into a book tracing the Trust’s history. We will cover its origins in the vision of Graham Taylor and Elton John in the 1980s through the formal appointment of a community officer in 1993 and its incorporation as a charity in 2004. With funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund the book will support an exhibition, an interactive website and a series of events through the year.
